Who’s BOEY?

42-year-old Boey is a Malaysian animator / artist currently based in the US. He grew up in Johor Bahru and left for San Francisco at the age of 17 to study at the Academy of Art University.

Upon graduation, Boey went on to work with Blizzard entertainment and became one of the lead animators in Diablo 2 expansion and Diablo 3. He has accumulated more than ten years of industry work experience to date. His love for art inspired him to create a line of artwork doodles drawn on Styrofoam cups with a Sharpie pen. The unexpected success of his cup art designs garnered some attention from the media and creative blogosphere and Boey decided to make his cup art available for sale on etsy.

Boey is most well-known for being the author of the book series When I  Was a Kid. His series spans a total of 5 books so far and is beloved by Malaysians and Singaporens alike.
