Meet The Twins #VoicesOfSunway

Elizabert and Stephannie, the twin sisters who are currently studying our Diploma in Accounting programme here at Sunway College Kuching! We had a chat with the twins to find out a little more about their life here at Sunway College Kuching.

Hi Elizabert (E) and Stephannie (S), thanks for joining us here today to talk a little bit about your life here at Sunway. First of all, could you do a quick introduction of yourselves?

E: Hi I’m Elizabert and this is my sister Stephannie, we’re both 19 this year and from Kuching. I love having fun in general and my sister loves to Sing.

I can definitely agree that you’re both fun to be around. We’ve heard a lot of great things about you both from our lecturers. Could you tell us why both of you decided to study accounting?

S: The bost of us were interested in accounting since we were in high school. We wanted to study ACCA’s foundation in accountancy at first, but our dad suggested that we take a Diploma in Accounting instead.

E: Yup. He told us that having a Diploma would make it easier to find a job in the future. We would also be able to continue to a Degree in Accounting if we wanted to.

I’m sure you both are very happy that you trusted your father with this decision.

S: Yes, we like the fact that we have the flexibility to choose.

Could you tell us a little about how you are coping with the current COVID-19 situation?

S: Everything changed so suddenly. At first we didn’t know how to deal with the situation because we’re so used to studying in a classroom. This is the first time that Elizabert and I are studying online. But with guidance from our lecturers, we’re starting to get used to things this way and we can say we’re managing well.

E: It’s all thanks to our lecturers. We were so worried because we didn’t what studying online was like. Our lecturers shared a lot of information and continued to update us through e-mail and messages. They also upload their lectures for us to rewatch in case we miss anything because of unstable internet.

We’re really glad to hear you are coping well. It was also a challenge for Sunway Kuching, but we managed to move all our learning online quite quickly thanks to the cooperation of students like you. Tell us, what was your most memorable moment at Sunway Kuching?

E: Making friends with students from different high schools. Everyone is so fun and different in a good way.

S: I agree with my sister. My best memories are working on group assignments with our friends. We would work together in the library or student lounge and it’s always a good time.

Last question, if you had one piece of advice for future Sunway Kuching students, what would it be?

E: Choose the path that you love. You won’t regret trying out the thing you’ve always wanted because then you will know for sure if it’s for you or not.

S: Yes, and also take advice from your parents or older siblings. We’re so happy that we decided to take our dad’s advice in pursuing a diploma programme. Now we get to choose our future the way we want.

Thanks so much for taking the time to be here with us today guys. It’s a pleasure having students like you in our college. We hope to see your bright faces back in campus sooner than later. Cheers!
